A Miel Impérial Selection
Organic Lychee Blossom Honey from Madagascar
Harvested in the heart of the lychee plantations of Madagascar, this organic honey is one of the most exotic in our selection. Bees forage the blossom of the lychee, a tropical fruit tree whose orchards stretch along the east coast of the island. The result: a creamy honey, markedly sweet, with fruity notes that discreetly recall the fruit itself.

The lychee, a tree of the Malagasy east coast
The lychee (Litchi chinensis) is a fruit tree native to China, introduced to Madagascar in the nineteenth century. It found an ideal climate there, and the island became one of the world's leading producers of the fruit. The orchards are concentrated on the east coast, around Toamasina, in a hot, humid region.
Before bearing its red-shelled fruit, the tree is covered in small, discreet blossoms, greenish to whitish, much sought after by bees. This honey comes from that nectar.
Production that respects the orchards
This honey is certified organic by Ecocert (FR-BIO-01): the hives are placed in plantations where synthetic chemicals are excluded, and beekeeping follows the label's specifications. For a honey, organic certification covers the foraging environment as much as the beekeeper's practices.
It is packed in recyclable packaging, as part of an effort to reduce the product's footprint.
How to enjoy lychee honey
By the spoonful
The simplest way to discover its fruity notes. Its sweetness makes it a very approachable honey, popular with children.
In a warm drink
In tea, an infusion or warm milk. Do not pour it into a boiling liquid, as heat dulls its aromas.
In baking
Its exotic flavour suits desserts: yoghurts, fromage blanc, fruit salads, cakes, ice creams.
In savoury cooking
In a marinade or a sauce, notably with poultry or Asian-inspired dishes, where its fruity note finds a natural place.
Crystallisation
Like any natural honey, lychee honey may crystallise over time. This is normal and alters neither the quality nor the taste of the product. To restore a more fluid texture, place the jar for a few minutes in a warm water bath, not exceeding 40 °C.
Honeys from Madagascar
From the same range, discover our organic niaouli blossom honey, also harvested in Madagascar, with woodier, mentholated notes.
Precautions
• Do not give to children under 12 months, as with any honey.
• Not recommended for people allergic to bee products.
• This product is a foodstuff. It replaces neither a varied, balanced diet, nor medical treatment, nor the advice of a healthcare professional.
Storage
Keep the jar tightly closed, at room temperature, away from light and heat. Honey keeps for a very long time in good conditions; refer to the date shown on the jar.
