Natural cream deodorant Extra Soft

The Extra Soft cream deodorant is a unisex cream taken with a fingertip and applied under the arms. Its label states a natural product, alcohol free and free of aluminium salts, designed for sensitive skin. Let us say it straight away: a deodorant works on odour, it does not reduce how much you sweat.

Extra Soft cream deodorant: the unisex cream for sensitive skin

• A cream in a jar taken with a fingertip: no stick, no spray, no roll-on.

• The label carries five statements: natural, effectiveness, intense freshness, alcohol free, aluminium free.

• A product presented as unisex and intended for sensitive skin.

• Without aluminium salts, a product remains a deodorant: it works on odour, not on how much you sweat.

• A small amount is enough for both underarms, on clean, dry skin.

Deodorant or antiperspirant: not the same thing

The confusion is everywhere, so let us be clear. An antiperspirant contains aluminium salts and acts on how much sweat comes out. A deodorant does not touch that: it works on odour, and perspiration carries on as usual. Extra Soft is a deodorant.

In practice: if you are looking for something that stops you sweating, this is not it, and no aluminium-free product will do that. If you are looking to replace an antiperspirant with a product free of aluminium salts, accepting that you will sweat as usual, that is exactly what this cream is about.

What « sensitive skin » means here

• Alcohol free: the most telling statement for skin that reacts. Alcohol is what most often stings on a freshly shaved underarm.

• Free of aluminium salts: the formula does not try to tighten pores, it works on odour.

• No propellant: nothing is sprayed, nothing is inhaled, the cream goes on with a fingertip.

• That said, « sensitive skin » is not a regulated label: it is a direction taken by the formula, not a guarantee.

• The product is fragranced. If your skin reacts to fragrance, the inner-elbow patch test remains essential.

The word « sensitive » is used everywhere in cosmetics and means different things from one brand to the next. What can be said about this one is what the label carries: no alcohol, no aluminium salts, fingertip application with no aerosol. That is already three classic irritants fewer. The fourth, fragrance, is still there.

Texture, scent, wear: what to expect

The cream is supple and firm in the jar. Taken with a fingertip, it warms quickly and spreads in a thin layer. It is not invisible when applied: let it sink in for a minute before getting dressed, like any rich product.

The label speaks of « intense freshness »: mind the misunderstanding, this is freshness of scent, not an icy effect. With no alcohol and no menthol, the cream does not give the cold hit of a spray. How long it lasts depends on your skin, the season and your activity, and is best judged over a few days of use.

How to apply it

On clean, dry skin

In the morning after the shower, once the skin is properly dry. On damp skin the cream spreads poorly and lasts less.

A very small amount

A small amount on the fingertip is enough for both underarms. More changes nothing and leaves a tacky film.

Let it sink in

Allow a minute before getting dressed, so the cream absorbs and does not mark the fabric.

Not straight after hair removal

Wait at least twenty-four hours after shaving or waxing: that is when sensitive skin reacts most.

Why a cream rather than a stick

A cream in a jar is the simplest form an alcohol-free formula can take: no propellant, no stick to wind up, no ball to clean. You dose it with a fingertip, you can see what is left, and the jar empties down to the bottom. In exchange you wash your hands afterwards, and application asks for a minute of patience that a spray does not. It is a trade-off, not a superiority.

In the same range

For a more pronounced scent, the Chérie cream deodorant follows the same cream logic on a cherry note.

And to compare formats, our natural deodorant section brings together the shop’s creams, solid sticks and roll-ons.

Precautions for use

• External use only, on the skin of the underarms. This product is not to be swallowed.

• Patch-test on the inner elbow 24 hours before first use, particularly if your skin reacts easily.

• Do not apply on damaged or irritated skin, or straight after shaving or waxing.

• Avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water.

• Keep out of reach of children. Stop using it if redness, tingling or itching occurs.

• This product is a cosmetic, not a medicine. With persistent discomfort under the arms, speak to a healthcare professional.

Storage

Close the jar firmly after each use and keep it at room temperature, dry, away from light and heat. Like any cream in a jar, take it with clean, dry fingers or a small spatula so as not to spoil the product. In summer the cream softens: that is normal, and it firms up again when cool. Refer to the date and the period-after-opening printed on the packaging.

Extra Soft cream deodorant: your questions

Does this deodorant stop you sweating?

No, and no deodorant free of aluminium salts does. A deodorant works on odour; it is the antiperspirant, with its aluminium salts, that acts on how much sweat comes out.

Is it really suitable for sensitive skin?

That is the direction the label states: no alcohol, no aluminium salts, no aerosol. It is not a regulated label, and the product is still fragranced: run the inner-elbow patch test before the first application.

Does the « intense freshness » feel cold on the skin?

No. This is freshness of scent. With no alcohol and no menthol there is no icy effect on application.

How do you apply a cream deodorant?

With a fingertip, on clean, dry skin. A small amount for both underarms, spread thinly, then a minute's pause before getting dressed.

Does it mark clothes?

Not if you let the cream sink in for a minute before getting dressed and use only a small amount.

Can it be used after shaving?

Better to wait twenty-four hours. On freshly shaved or waxed skin, even an alcohol-free deodorant can sting.
