Chajarat Mariam: what is it?
The Rose of Jericho grows mainly in the deserts of pre-Saharan North Africa, the Sahara and the Middle East. This small, dry plant, with its twiggy stem, is covered with oblong leaves and spikes of white flowers. It is harvested when its seeds reach maturity. At this point, Chajarat Mariam dehydrates and curls up. Its visual appearance changes to that of an inert beige or brown plant. It is in this form that all its benefits can be enjoyed. Chajarat Mariam 's impressive characteristic is its ability tobe reborn. Indeed, when moistened, it returns to its original form.
