Black cumin oil is a must-have at home; it's economical, part of the Messenger's Sunnah and full of benefits! For use in cosmetics, skin and hair care and even as part of our dietary routine, black cumin oil is a 100% natural vegetable oil that's a must-have.

The use of black cumin oil dates back to ancient Egyptian times, when pharaohs used it very regularly. The Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) also extolled its merits:" The black seed is a remedy for every ailment, except sâm. "(1)

Nigella is a plant originally found in southwest Asia, northern Europe and North Africa. Its seeds are used in a variety of ways: whole, ground, as essential oil or vegetable oil. The best-known and most reputed black cumin oils come mainly from Ethiopia and Egypt.

Quality oil

Black cumin oil, also known as Habba sawda, black cumin oil or Indian cumin oil, is extracted by cold pressing from the seeds of the black cumin flower. This process preserves the full flavor of this extraordinary oil and, above all, all its properties. It contains no preservatives, perfumes or parabens. This aromatic oil has a very distinctive scent, both spicy and slightly pungent.

Nigella is composed of active ingredients such as nigella essential oil, nigellin, nigellone, vitamin E, carotenoids and minerals (phosphorus, iron...).

Store in a cool place, no higher than 20°C, away from light.

Black cumin oil: an edible vegetable oil

Its spicy flavour is highly appreciated for spicing up certain dishes, and goes particularly well with oriental dishes.

It stimulates the immune system and has digestive, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-bacterial and anti-allergic properties. It prevents hypertension and reduces bad cholesterol and diabetes in the blood. It also tends to reduce fatigue, and acts against mycosis, psoriasis, acne, hair loss, coughs, sleep disorders and even libido problems.

Black cumin restores energy and promotes internal balance, making it an excellent dietary supplement. Be careful, however, not to overuse it, as it can be toxic in high doses. For an energizing cure, you can take 1 to 2 teaspoons a day between meals, for 1 to 3 months. If you have difficulty ingesting pure black cumin, you can mix it with organic carrot juice or your hot drink to reduce the taste while preserving its benefits.

Although there are no real contraindications, black cumin should not be given to children, and is not recommended for pregnant and/or breast-feeding women.

Among the benefits of black cumin oil is its therapeutic side

You can use it pure as a local application on the areas to be treated: it helps heal, makes the skin more elastic and helps reduce joint inflammation. It can also be used on insect bites, ringworm..

For colds and headaches, apply a few drops of a mixture of black cumin oil and olive oil to the nostrils.

Ibn Al Qayyim, in his book "Prophetic Medicine", gives several ways of using nigella oil: "Its oil is useful against snake bites, warts and moles. If you drink a mithqâl of it with water, it's effective against breathlessness and respiratory discomfort. […] If cooked with vinegar and gargled, it soothes tooth pain caused by cold. […] It is also useful for treating facial paralysis, if you instill its oil through the nose; and if you drink half a mithqâl of it, it is useful against the bite of the tarantula." (2)

Black cumin for skin and hair care

For the skin: black cumin oil is suitable for problem, dry, flaky, acne-prone and sensitive skin, and can also be used in anti-aging skin care products. This oil purifies, soothes, repairs and purifies, promotes tanning and restores suppleness to the skin.

How to use: You can use it pure, by putting a few drops on a small clean washable wipe, or directly on your clean fingers, massaging into the affected area(s). You can also mix black cumin oil with your own products, preferably organic and natural. If you're making your own skin care products, this oil will be perfect in purifying masks, soothing masks, anti-acne care, anti-aging skin care..

For hair: strengthens dry, brittle hair, restores vitality and suppleness, cleanses the scalp, fights psoriasis and other itches.

How to use: You can use black cumin oil as a mask, leaving it on your hair for a few hours, preferably mixed with another more fluid oil such as jojoba oil.
