"What fruit can boast of being eaten, of being used to make medicines, paper, rope, twine, thread, various handicrafts, umbrellas, disposable "organic" plates, cooking containers, glue, dye, soap, and of producing delicious honey?

which produces a delicious honey, which is what we're interested in... the banana, of course!

The banana tree, a giant herb often considered to be a tree, is one of the oldest cultivated plants.

This plant (no, it's not a tree!) was first cultivated in Papua New Guinea around ten thousand years ago.

Geographical and natural origins

Native to Asia, its birthplace, bananas have been cultivated for hundreds of years.

The banana we eat today comes from one of the species cultivated since the 19th century, of which there are now more than 40, and is a fruit eaten and appreciated all over the world.

The banana tree, an excellent nectar-bearing plant, offers us a wealth of benefits, not least its fruit, which is a true delight, and its honey, banana honey, which ranges in color from light to very dark, and is native to Mali.

The benefits of banana honey

Forget apples, a banana a day keeps the doctor away.

In fact, the health benefits of bananas far outweigh those of apples, due to the far greater quantity of vitamins and nutrients contained in this delicious fruit.

Rare and sweet, soft and delicate, made from the nectar of banana flowers, this honey is rich with a delicate nuance that will delight the most demanding taste buds, and is sure to leave no one indifferent.

The banana is a powerful ally, containing ascorbic acid (vitamin C), vitamin B, carotene, enzymes, trace elements, fiber, potassium and magnesium.

Banana honey enables you to :

  • Boost fertility,
  • Combat anemia,
  • Regulate the menstrual cycle,
  • Promote lactation in nursing mothers,
  • Reduce hypertension.

It's like having a vitamin concentrate in a jar!

Some therapeutic virtues

Bananas have a strong antioxidant capacity, and are therefore recognized for their preventive qualities against certain cancers and cardiovascular diseases. Regular consumption of bananas reduces the risk of heart attack by around 40%

heart attack.

Banana honey is :

  • Very rich in carbohydrates, vitamin B (which relaxes the nervous system), potassium and magnesium,
  • An "antidepressant", thanks to tryptophan, a protein that the body converts into serotonin,
  • Rich in iron,
  • Rich in vitamin B6, which combines with potassium and magnesium.

It also helps to strengthen the immune system, which is an important asset in everyday life!

Directions for use

Each honey has a different color, character and smoothness, and this honey is no exception, precious and singular.

Surprising in its taste and sweetness, banana honey is easy to spread and will enhance your desserts, cakes or pancakes with a delicate touch of fruity flavors.

You can also use it as a sugar substitute, in drinks or sweet-and-sour preparations.

But you can also use it as a mask!

In fact, a honey mask will help restore freshness and elasticity to aged skin, eliminate fine lines, and nourish it with useful micro-elements.

To do this, mix equal parts banana flesh and honey, add the yolk to the resulting mass, apply the mixture to your face for twenty minutes, then rinse.

The tropical fruits are perfect for moisturizing the skin, while the honey will disinfect and heal micro-cracks, let the skin's pores breathe, and the yellow will restore your skin's elasticity.

Your skin condition will improve after the first application.

Preserving banana honey

To preserve its medicinal qualities and taste, we advise you not to expose this honey to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

In fact, at over 25 degrees all its benefits will be lost.

We therefore recommend storing honey at room temperature, between 10 and 25 degrees maximum.

Below these temperatures, we fear that it will crystallize, and that you will lose a great source of benefits for your body.

If it begins to crystallize, place the jar in a bain-marie for a few moments, without reaching a high temperature.

Too much humidity will cause your honey to ferment, making it unfit for consumption.

We strongly advise you to dispose of your honey if it has fermented.

For obvious health reasons, children under the age of two should not have access to the exceptional qualities of this honey.

Good things come to those who wait!
